What I Wore: St.Lucia Sunset Cruise

I absolutely LOVED wearing this dress! It was perfect for this sunset cruise on a catamaran sailboat. It fit beautifully and has a gorgeous back.

Charleston, SC Trip: Isle of Palm and Boone Hall Plantation

Here are some photos from our  trip to Charleston, South Carolina! I know I don't usually post photos of my family here, so this is rare. However, this was a family trip so it is what I took photos of. I am so grateful to have been able to spend this week in such a beautiful place with family, I had to share the pictures. This place is such a great location for a mini vacation, if you are within driving range, definitely check it out! There is a lot of fun things to do, just make sure you visit in the spring-late summer as the beaches in November were a little bit chilly.

What I Wore; H&M Floral Print Culottes

I had always been scared of the culotte style pants that have been in style for a little bit. having a long torso and short little legs, I never thought it would look good on my body type. Then I found these. They were so pretty with this gorgeous print and great fabric and on sale($20 at H&M) that I had to try them on, lo and behold... They looked pretty great! I think it is because they are high waisted and generally have a flattering fit. I did have to go up a size from my usual size because they were hugging in all the WRONG places at first. While they may still have these in stores on sale, they are no longer online but I did link other styles in various price ranges below. My bag is a vintage Chanel camera bag, similar ones can be found here.  I also plan to wear these into the fall with a turtle neck and pumps or ankle boots since we will still be in Virginia and I don't see it cooling down anytime soon.  My next mission is to find a midi dress that doesn't make me look crazy.

What I Wore; Light Blue H&M Printed Romper

I wore this romper for the stock the bar party over the weekend in South Carolina, but I played photographer for the party and didn't get a chance to photograph it. So I recreated it the way I wore it. Pictures don't really do this little play-suit justice, it's so pretty in person and the ruffles flow beautifully when you walk. The colors compliment pretty much any skin tone and the fabric does not feel cheap. It would look lovely with a stacked thicker heel sandal as well.

Tie-Dye, Baseball Hats and Tennis Shoes; My LA Style

So I originally got this skirt to wear in Miami, but ended up wearing those high waisted olive green shorts way too much and didn't get a chance to wear this (also it rained 50% of our time there). I decided to go more casual than I was planning and do this sort of hip-hop urban look which I call LA style.. This one is from Love Culture similar HERE (on sale). I wore this outfit to a block party concert type thing here in VA.

What I Wore; A Visit to D.C

This Sunday me and my husband took my family sight seeing around DC a little bit. After they left we ventured a little bit further out of the tourist-y areas and discovered a really fantastic neighborhood full of historical homes and condos and really great restaurants. We walked all the way over to Agora after finding it online, we never tried Turkish food and it was all that I had hoped for. In case you are in the area and curious, it's at 1527 17th st NW. The entire neighborhood is adorable and very LGBT friendly as well as four legged
baby friendly :)

What I Wore: Black and Olive

I wore a combination of the pieces in these photos so many times I might as well have packed half the things I actually did! The shorts fit really great, and they are super comfortable in the heat. The cropped top I wore with my high waisted, wide leg linen pants as well as with these shorts.  The shorts work great with all crop tops, but look cute and casual with a loose fitting half tucked tee shirt.

What I Wore; Leather, lots of leather

We are finally completely settled in at our new place in Virginia! We found a great apartment really close to plenty of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. It's a bit smaller than our home back in CT, but it makes up for that with giant walk in closets, a pool, and a gym. So, I guess that means I am now obligated to get in shape.

Yesterday was my birthday, and I figured it was a good time to come back to the blog world! There are a few exciting things coming up that I am looking forward to. The big one being the move here and meeting new people. A few others are a bunch of weddings happening in the next year, and traveling to celebrate those involved. We are also planning a short stay in the Outer Banks with some friends, possibly, in the next two months. If you know me or have read here before, you know how much I love planning travel outfits and packing (and traveling ANYWHERE in general!).

My look for yesterday was a little bit rock/edgy with somewhat gothic makeup. You would think  that the weather would be somewhat pleasant since we are "south", but fun fact, it's still cold...

Blazer     here ( on sale)   You can't see it but I am wearing a blazer under the jacket that comes with a tassel tie belt, that I have been using as a choker necklace.
Top  Here (on sale, too!)     $12.99, in black and white
Jacket (similar)   Here       On sale for $35
Boots are Giuseppe Zanotti, but similar here   for $134.

In retrospect, even though these boots provided extra warmth, I think I would replace them with regular black pumps or booties and reserve these tall boots for dresses and skirts.

What I Wore: Bohemian Florals and Leather

As much as I love doing this, I really hate the cold, so I am pretty excited about our move to Virginia where I can at least escape a few degrees and maybe some feet of snow! We are in the midst of trying to find a place to live down there, and it is proving to be more difficult than I thought. Other than that, the other thing that is new: me vlogging! I am giving it a go, but I have always hated my voice on camera. I come off as either a 10 year old or a valley chick. But I have so many products that I received in my goody bag from simply stylist that if i don't do some reviews it would be nuts! Giveaways to follow... (I have doubles of every product I would be reviewing, so they are all brand new, boxed, and unused, pretty obvious but thought I would mention it)

The dress I am wearing is from last fall, but the same brand. They do a lot of these bohemian types of looks and the one I linked would look equally nice under a sweater.  The cream sweater I sized up on because I wanted a looser fit.
