It's almost mother's day, and that means 1000 blogs are posting a 'What to Buy for Mother's Day'gift guide. It seems to me like most of these people are not actually parents. If you were to ask the majority of mothers what they wanted for their special day, I almost guarantee they will not say Valentino shoes or some designer purse or another asinine gift that will put them through deep anxiety about the price tag and most likely end up stepped on, spit up on, or carried as a dress up play time thing. If you are one of these bloggers, I ask you to stop please and listen.
Do you really want to know what a mother would want for their special day? To sleep in past nine without hearing ANYTHING, breakfast in bed WITHOUT having to clean the dishes, maybe some alone time OUT with their significant other without a child throwing food and screaming in a nice restaurant. . .If you absolutely feel you must spend some money on your mother or wife or baby mama, a spa day or a nice massage will be perfect. These are the kinds of things we really dream about.

Sure, we love pretty shiny expensive gifts, but there are other days for those kinds of gifts: Christmas, birthdays etc.
