Finding a good dress is a task and a half especially if you have a long torso like myself or some other issue with dressing yourself. Then there are 'the rules' to go by. Depending on the guests of honor and the party theme or style you don't want to go too casual, too dressy, too skanky, too conservative etc. You should immediately rule out ALL white dresses! Duh. Unless it is a teeny tiny bit of white mixed with a black print, this is a big no-no. You can never go wrong with a little black dress option. It will never go out of style and I'm sure you already have one in your closet. Just in case you don't :
1. Is pricier than most things I post, but since it is such a classic dress, I imagine you could get a lot of wear out of it. $650 Theia lace dress at Neiman's. This one would also be a good choice for a longer torso because of the full skirt.
2. Halston, on sale for $123 here
More budget friendly ideas:
1. Lace top dress $49.95 from H&M. I think this one would give a good balance to a long torso because of the lace torso.
2. bejeweled halter neck dress on sale for $76. Classic slim fit dress.
If your personality doesn't work with a little black dress and you're more fun, color is great unless this is a black tie event, where more muted classic dressed up adult colors are appropriate. My go-to place for fun dresses or anything a little more unique is nasty gal. So, of course, the next 4 are from there:
1. Peach tiered dress $68.00 2. Blue lace dress $68.00 3. Red strapless dress $172.00
4. Powder blue off the shoulder dress On sale for $27.20!
I myself have a wedding in the fall, I will most likely go with black or something fall-y colored. Any suggestions for me?
